Michigan State football brought in North Dakota State center transfer Trent Fraley in to patrol the middle of their offensive line in 2026. Not only will Fraley be a big help on the field, but by all accounts, Fraley is a top leader and a great person to have off of the field.
Fraley’s off field presence was made known even more when he was named as Michigan State’s nominee for the Campbell Trophy. Awarded by the National Football Federation, the Campbell Trophy is given to a player with the best combination of academics, leadership and on-field performance. It has been dubbed as the “Academic Heisman.”

Michigan State has never had a winner of the Campbell Trophy, meaning Fraley has a chance to make program history this season if he were to win the award.
