Mark Pope and the Kentucky Basketball staff are continuing to evaluate talent for the future, as five-star small forward DJ Okoth is scheduled to visit Kentucky on Oct. 2 for an unofficial visit, according to Dushawn London of 247 Sports. The visit will take place the same weekend as Big Blue Madness.
Okoth also told London that he plans to visit Tennessee on Oct. 16 and Vanderbilt on Nov. 14.

The 6-foot-6, 180-pound forward plays high school basketball in Bartlett, Tennessee. During his sophomore season, Okoth earned TSSAA Mr. Basketball (Class 4A) honors while helping lead his team to its first state championship since 2001.
Okoth averaged 13.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 56% from the field during his sophomore season.
According to the 247 Sports Composite, Okoth is ranked No. 17 nationally, No. 5 among small forwards, and No. 1 overall in the state of Tennessee.
Kentucky offered Okoth on July 21, 2026, giving the Wildcats an early start in his recruitment. He currently holds nearly 20 offers, including from Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, and several other programs.
While it is still early in Okoth’s recruitment, it is encouraging to see Pope and the Kentucky staff showing interest in one of the nation’s top 2028 prospects this early in the process.
