Mar. 25—BEMIDJI — The Bemidji State women’s basketball team landed four student-athletes on this year’s College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women’s Basketball teams.
Included in this year’s selections were senior Erin Barrette, junior Rachel Koenig and sophomores Tieryn Plasch and Ashlynne Guenther.
As four of the top-six starters for BSU, the group combined for 793 points and 309 rebounds. Plasch led the Beavers in multiple categories, including points (263), field-goal and 3-point shooting, assists (69) and minutes (806). Barrette was the top student-athlete for assist to turnover ratio and steals.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and a graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student. Along with academic requirements, the student-athletes must compete in 90% of their team’s competitions or start in at least 66 percent of games.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District Women’s Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women’s basketball honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III and NAIA.
