Famous Carlile Name  Back In The Fast Lane To Capture 2025 Australian Age Pointscore

Carlile, one of swimming’s iconic names, has taken a trip down memory lane to re-capture the National Age Pointscore for the first time in 36 years after nine frantic days of racing at the 2025 Australian Age Championships in Brisbane.

The Carlile Swim Team, named after Australian swimming’s dynamic husband and wife coaching and teaching duo, Forbes and Ursula Carlile, topped the pointscore on 2009 points, to wrest the title away from St Peters Western, QLD (1787pts) and Carlile’s Sydney rivals Knox-Pymble, NSW (1757 pts).

The St Peters Western conglomerate have been unbeatable for the past 11 years – topping the Age and Open Pointscores as the Indooroopilly Lutheran school forged a swimming powerhouse in Brisbane’s inner city.

But driven by Carlile Head Coach, Chris Nesbit, assistant Adam Mallet and Carlile’s team of on deck coaches in Brisbane, Michaela Pattinson, Daniel Marshall, Jodie Armstrong and Jeremy Lagonilla with Sports Scientist Gina Sacilotto, it’s time for Carlile to celebrate

Lim winning her gold medals in the 200IM and the100 and 200m backstroke double, with Mulcahy taking the 400,800 and 1500m freestyle treble and her sister Isobel Mulcahy the 15 years 800 and 1500m freestyle double.

The Carlile resurgence coming off the back of a concerted effort and planning to establish a competitive pathway across their swim schools four years ago.

The team signalling their National Age successes, hitting their straps to win the 2025 Junior and Senior Combined NSW State Championship Pointscore.

“It’s so satisfying, our pathway program is delivering kids with terrific technique to our competitive coaches and Chris and his team created an atmosphere where success is inevitable. Forbes and Ursula would be so very proud,” said Carlile CEO Jon Harker.

“Congratulations to the families the swimmers and the coaches, in the last 12 months we have seen Liv Wunsch who started in the backyard pool where the Carliles pioneered baby swimming win Olympic gold (in the 4x100m freestyle) and now our kids have topped NSW and Australia. To say we are proud of them and our coaches is an understatement.”
