Te-Hina Paopao Celebrates MiLaysia Fulwiley’s Transfer from South Carolina to LSU

Te-Hina Paopao may be going to the WNBA, but she’s still watching news about the South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team closely. When MiLaysia Fulwiley revealed that she’s committing to LSU, PaoPao had a quick word of support for her former teammate.

In reply to Fulwiley’s announcement, Paopao simply wrote an excited: “OOOWWWEEEEE 🔥🔥🔥.”

Her reply quickly got more than 200 likes.

Three of the Gamecocks’ top players were drafted into the WNBA: Paopao, Bree Hall, and Sania Feagin. Paopao was the No. 18 pick, selected by the Atlanta Dream. Hall was the 20th pick in the WNBA draft, selected by the Indiana Fever. Feagin was then the No. 21 pick, selected by the Los Angeles Sparks.

Hall also replied to Fulwiley’s announcement with two fire emoji. One fan replied, “def not 🔥.”

And Feagin replied with a short-message of her own: two hearts and a fire emoji.

The former teammates who are now in the WNBA are all excited for their friend.

Head coach Dawn Staley has posted about how proud she is of all three players and their WNBA drafts.

She wrote on X: “Thank you Lord! Proud of @GamecockWBB @tehinapaopa0 @breezyhalll @supremenia for being selected in the @WNBA draft. @AtlantaDream @IndianaFever @LASparks yall have some class act human beings and highly tested talented individuals! Let’s gooooo!!!”

When Fulwiley first decided to enter the transfer portal, she shared a heartfelt message on social media thanking the Gamecocks.

Fulwiley’s goodbye message on Instagram read: “I want to begin by thanking my hometown of Columbia, SC. Without my village, I wouldn’t be where I am today, chasing my dreams. Thank you to Coach Staley, the entire South Carolina staff, and my teammates for the unforgettable memories we’ve created together. Most importantly. Thank you to the FAMS for embracing me and supporting me over the past two years. After thoughtful consideration, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal. I’m excited for what’s next and grateful for all the continued love and support.”
