Vermont women’s basketball picked up its first transfer from the portal via an in-conference transfer. Former Binghamton Bearcat Jadyn Weltz announced Friday on her Instagram her decision to join the Catamounts.
The team announced her signing Saturday morning. The 5-foot-7 redshirt senior guard has one year of eligibility remaining following her three years at Binghamton. Weltz was the Bearcats leading scorer last year averaging 9.7 points per game and led her team in assists with 84. She shot a career high 31.5% from beyond the arc this past season.
The Ontario native is a two-time America East all-conference selection and was named to the America East all-rookie team in 2023.

In the first three seasons of Weltz’s collegiate career she has made 91 appearances and 75 starts while averaging 9.3 points, 4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. In six career games against her new team Weltz scored a total of 47 points providing a major boost for the Catamounts who graduate Anna Olson and Bella Vito.
Note: Four players from the reigning America East tournament champions entered the transfer portal last month. Those players are freshman guard Natalie Beaudoin, sophomore guard Lexi Kerstein, freshman guard Devon Yarde and junior guard Nika Kurdija. All these players earned limited playing time last year.
