After winning just one of their past three games, the Fever sit third in the Eastern Conference, led by a mix of standout performances from Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell.

As coach Stephanie White spoke with the media ahead of Thursday’s game, she was asked about the possibility of adding a 12th player to the Fever roster following the loss of veteran DeWanna Bonner.

“Yeah, I mean, when that time comes, you know, I hope that we can get somebody who can impact our team. Somebody who can impact our team in whatever way it is that we need at that moment. Somebody who can fit into what we do at both ends of the floor,” White said.

“And to have depth … Once you get into a situation where you’re end of season or hunting playoffs into playoffs, you want to be able to give teams different looks. So, someone who can be a little bit different than what we have.”

After a five-year WNBA playing career with the Charlotte Sting and Fever, White transitioned into coaching, serving as an assistant at Ball State, Kansas State, Toledo and the Chicago Sky before returning to Indiana in 2011 as an assistant.

Promoted to head coach in 2015, White became the first rookie coach in league history to guide a team to the WNBA Finals, compiling a 20-14 record before falling to the Minnesota Lynx.

After a five-year collegiate stint at Vanderbilt, she spent 2023-24 with the Connecticut Sun, earning WNBA Coach of the Year in 2023 and back-to-back playoff berths.

Hired back by the Fever in November 2024, White now leads a .500 team that entered the year with high expectations as one of the favorites to hoist the title.
