“Everything is bigger in Texas,” as the saying goes, and this is especially fitting with Texas Longhorns football. Excitement and expectations are always sky high, and this buzz comes with a burden. Many talented players across college football have crumbled under this level of pressure over the years, but Longhorns superstar quarterback Arch Manning is unfazed.

Arch Manning is confident heading into 2026.

In an interview with On3’s Chris Low last week, he commented on the scrutiny that comes with both his last name and his role on the field, saying “I’m not going to shy away from anything. People are allowed to say whatever they want. It doesn’t really affect me. I know where I’m going and I know no one’s going to stop me. So that’s where I am with all that.”

The redshirt junior has been limited so far in spring practices after undergoing a minor foot surgery in January. However, he is feeling “100% right now,” and is expected to return in time for summer workouts.

In his first season as the full-time starter in Austin, Manning threw for 3,163 yards and 26 touchdowns, adding 399 yards and 10 scores on the ground. He was named Citrus Bowl MVP after leading the Longhorns to a 41–27 victory over the Michigan Wolverines on New Year’s Eve. In that game, Manning recorded 221 passing yards, 155 rushing yards, and 4 total touchdowns, including a 60-yard rushing score to seal the win in the fourth quarter:
