The UFC’s lead commentator is interested in seeing how Ronda Rousey would stack up against today’s top fighters.
Rousey made her long-awaited comeback last Saturday, signing with Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions to return to the cage after nearly ten years away.

She didn’t waste any time either, submitting Gina Carano in just 17 seconds at the end of the first MMA event ever broadcast on Netflix.
Even though a lot of people thought the fight wasn’t competitive enough to give Rousey much credit for her win, Anik still found it interesting enough to wonder how she might do against some of the UFC’s current top fighters.

Jon Anik would like to see Ronda Rousey face the group chasing Kayla Harrison
After suffering back-to-back knockouts against Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, Rousey stepped away from fighting to pursue other opportunities outside of the Octagon.

She was back in action on 16 May at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, taking on a role that had long defined her career. Even though she was facing an opponent who hadn’t fought since 2009, Jon Anik wasn’t ready to rule out her chances in a more competitive setting.
“Can’t Ronda Rousey get takedowns against a high-level, modern-day fighter and get to a place where she can grab an arm or a neck? I mean, am I crazy?” the UFC commentator asked during the Anik and Florian Podcast.
“Because a lot of people think they’d be favoured to beat Ronda Rousey right now.
“I just would be curious to see how she would do against the UFC top 10,” he continued. “Not to suggest that she’d be ready for Kayla Harrison or Amanda Nunes, but I am wildly curious to see how she would do against some of those other fighters.”

Anik won’t get the chance after Rousey announced her retirement from MMA following her win over Carano. Even if she had decided to continue fighting, any return would have been unlikely given her comments about UFC chief business officer Hunter Campbell.
