Sarah Hubbard has broken the double 50-metre round barebow world record, shooting 1282 out of a possible 1440 at the NCB Double 720 registered tournament in Knutsford, United Kingdom, on 12 July 2026.
The mark remains subject to ratification.
Hubbard added five points to the previous world record of 1277, set by Italy’s Giulia Mantilli in 2025.
“To walk away with the double was just incredible. Just an absolutely brilliant day,” said Hubbard.
It is Hubbard’s third world record in as many months, after breaking the single 50-metre round world record in May before improving it again in June.
“It was a really tough day, really draining weather-wise with the heat and staying focused,” she said. “The focus I had every time I shot was intense, but it needed to be to keep on track and shoot those good ends.”
Hubbard deliberately avoided adding up her scores during the final stages of the round to keep her attention on each shot rather than the record.
“I didn’t want to walk into that last end thinking, ‘Right, I need a 54,’” she said.
“My next goal is obviously to push the scores even higher. It’s a bit more relaxing because you’re not trying to get something you haven’t got!”
