Arizona State Pursuing Reunion After NCAA Grants Transfer Forward 7th Year of Eligibility

by admin

Former Auburn, Arizona State, and Texas Tech forward Devan Cambridge received an additional year of eligibility via waiver from the NCAA, immediately making him among the more sought after players in the transfer portal.

Cambridge has received interest from a handful of high profile programs since the news was reported by Joe Tipton of On3 on Thursday. North Carolina, Ohio State, Arizona, Pitt, Seton Hall, Pepperdine, and even a former flame in Arizona State are all on the list – with Tipton also reporting Cambridge is set to visit Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

The 6’6 wing dealt with injuries which limited him to just 14 games the past two seasons at Texas Tech, leading to him getting the waiver for an additional year by the NCAA.

Even with 31 games played in 2019-20, 27 in 2020-21, 33 in 2021-22, and 36 in 2022-23, Cambridge gets that extra year because the 2020-21 season does not count against players due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
