Auburn Basketball Announces ‘Gauntlet’ for Next Season originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
A season removed from winning the regular season SEC title outright – and a second Final Four appearance in six seasons – Auburn basketball is looking at another gauntlet of a schedule as the SEC announced its 2025-26 conference opponents on Wednesday.

The SEC was certainly the toughest it’s ever been a season ago – considering two of the last four teams remaining in the NCAA Tournament hailed from the SEC, with Florida outlasting them all – and that is not subject to change this upcoming season as six of the league’s 16 squads made ESPN’s early college basketball rankings.

A notable change to Auburn’s SEC slate is a home-and-home with Arkansas, which will replace Georgia.
Auburn will play home games against the Kentucky Wildcats, LSU Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Texas Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies, and Vanderbilt Commodores.
They will play away games against the Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Oklahoma Sooners, and Tennessee Volunteers, with home-and-away games being played against the Alabama Crimson Tide, Arkansas Razorbacks and Ole Miss Rebels.

Dates and times will be announced closer to the season.
Coming off a historic 2024 campaign, the Tigers had a complete roster overhaul, with the exception of the lone returner in star-studded sophomore point guard Tahaad Pettiford.
Auburn also added four players from the transfer portal – UCF Knights forward Keyshawn Hall, Mississippi State big man KeShawn Murphy, Texas Tech guard Kevin Overton, and Lincoln Memorial guard/forward Elijah Freeman. Additionally, it added guard Abdul Bashir. Jr and center Omeka Oporum from the JUCO ranks, with Filip Jovic making his way from overseas.
Auburn also added the No. 20 overall class in 2025, according to 247Sports, with guard Kaden Magwood, guard Simon Walker, and forward Sebastian Williams-Adams making their way to the Plains.
