FIA launches call for promoter of Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship
The FIA has today launched a call for Expressions of Interest from potential promoters or operators for the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship, starting from the 2026 season
With an estimated 250,000 spectators attending events across the season and a combined social media reach of over 12 million people in 2024, the championship occupies a well-established and unique position within European motor sport. It presents an attractive opportunity for an entity to take on the promotion of a series with deep-rooted heritage, a distinctive character and a loyal fanbase.
The FIA welcomes interest from organisations seeking to leverage and develop the commercial rights of the Championship, as well as proposals from those wishing to act as an operational partner or service provider to the FIA in running the series.
Interested parties must submit a formal Expression of Interest to the FIA’s Circuit Sport Department by 17:00 CET on Monday 16 June 2025. This registration is necessary to receive full documentation detailing the selection process, criteria, legal conditions, and deadlines.
To express your interest, please send an email including your organisation’s name, contact details, and a brief statement of intent to: truckracing@fia.com
Marek Nawarecki, FIA Senior Circuit Sport Director, said: “The Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship is a series with a proud legacy dating back to the 1980s, and it maintains close ties with the transportation and logistics sectors through both marketing and technology. It offers fans a unique motor sport experience, with the largest events drawing crowds of over 100,000 and incorporating elements such as truck shows, trade fairs, and concerts. The racing itself is thrilling and distinctive, and we see considerable potential to grow the visibility and reach of truck racing even further. This call for Expressions of Interest is an opportunity to realise that ambition.”
ABOUT THE GOODYEAR FIA EUROPEAN TRUCK RACING CHAMPIONSHIP
The FIA ETRC is Europe’s premier truck racing series, featuring tractor units with a minimum weight of 5,300 kg and power outputs of approximately 1,200 bhp, making them the most powerful vehicles in FIA-sanctioned circuit racing.
Since adopting its current format in 2006, the championship has built a strong presence across Europe, visiting modern and historic circuits in countries including Italy, Czechia, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Spain. It features a stable calendar, also benefiting from a stable pool of teams and drivers, with the grid accommodating trucks from Europe’s leading manufacturers
The series also benefits from existing technical partnerships with Goodyear and TotalEnergies, and places a strong emphasis on sustainability, as outlined in a dedicated roadmap for the gradual introduction of environmentally friendly power sources in truck racing. For the 2021 season, the FIA ETRC switched to 100% sustainable fuel, HVO100 biodiesel from TotalEnergies, becoming the first FIA-sanctioned competition to do so. This season, the field runs on a new generation of truck racing tyres made with the use of sustainable materials.
The eight-round 2025 FIA ETRC season is currently underway. Following races in Misano and the Lausitzring, the championship will continue at the Slovakia Ring, the Nürburgring, Autodrom Most, Circuit Zolder, Le Mans Bugatti Circuit, and Circuito del Jarama.
