With summer practices underway, the Iowa women’s basketball program officially welcomes its talented 2025 signing class to Iowa City as they begin their Hawkeye journey.
In a collection of photos on the program’s social media platforms posted on Sunday, numerous preexisting members of the Hawkeyes team are seen gathering alongside the four newcomers of Addie Deal, Jouney Houston, Chazadi ‘Chit-Chat’ Wright, and Layla Hayes in their summer dormitories.

The post not only signals the welcoming of the newest Hawkeye stars, but also brings a positive outlook on the team’s potential as they condition over the summer in preparation for the upcoming season.
In addition to the post featuring the newest members of the team, the Hawkeyes released a video that showcased head coach Jan Jensen donning a shirt reading “Culture Doesn’t Graduate,” alongside numerous clips from Iowa’s first summer practice. Jensen explained that the shirt’s meaning represents the eventual melding of Iowa’s experienced coaching staff, senior leadership, and skilled newcomers into a complete team.
As the 2025-26 season approaches in the distance, the anticipation from fans continues to grow with a promising new group of talent joining a veteran-laden squad that showcased they have the potential to compete amongst the nation’s top teams.
