A day after Iowa women’s basketball revealed its full 2026-27 regular-season schedule, the Hawkeyes announced the venue for their Nov. 8 nonconference road matchup against annual power UConn.
While the much-anticipated matchup between the Hawkeyes and Huskies has headlined Iowa’s nonconference schedule since it was announced on May 26, the exact venue remained undetermined. The two possible locations were Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn., and the larger-capacity PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford.

Ultimately, the two programs announced that they will face off at Gampel Pavilion, the traditional home of the UConn Huskies.
UConn holds a 7-4 all-time series lead over the Hawkeyes, which was expanded last season with a 90-64 win over then-No. 12 Iowa on Dec. 20, 2025, in Brooklyn, N.Y., at the Women’s Champions Classic.
Iowa last defeated UConn, 71-69, in the Final Four on April 5, 2024. That game sent the program to its second-consecutive national championship game, marked Caitlin Clark‘s last victory as a Hawkeye, and Lisa Bluder’s last win as Iowa’s head coach before her surprise May 2024 retirement. Hannah Stuelke led Iowa with 23 points and Clark added 21 points in the win.

While the venue has been chosen for the Nov. 8 clash, tipoff time and its TV designation have not yet been finalized. That information will be announced at a later date.
