Last year, Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi famously talked about how their game against Notre Dame didn’t really mean anything because it wasn’t an ACC conference game. Never mind the fact that Pitt was ranked and in the hunt for a college football playoff spot — Narduzzi put up the front that the game didn’t matter.
The results on the field showed as the Irish hammered Pitt — and the Panthers embarrassingly kept their starters in for the very end of a blowout to get a touchdown against Notre Dame’s third string.

Fast forward to 2026 and the season opener for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Wisconsin Badgers at Lambeau Field… and I think we just got a little taste of Narduzzi with some comments made by head coach Luke Fickell.
To answer the question in the title — no. Luke Fickell did not go FULL Pat Narduzzi, but he did become a little Pat Narduzzi curious.
