After the Gilas Pilipinas survived an 82-81 overtime victory over Jordan, New York Knicks guard Jordan Clarkson continues to support his roots.

The Philippines went in a hard-fought battle against Jordan during the fourth-window clash of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers, as Kevin Quiambao sank the go-ahead triple, and 7-foot-3 Kai Sotto pulled off a game-saving block.

The former Gilas Pilipinas superstar still showed love to the Philippines despite not playing him this window due to short preparation.

Aside from the basketball scene, Filipina Tennis ace Alex Eala crossed paths with Clarkson at the US Open, bonding over their shared Filipino roots.

“I wear my culture on my sleeve. I’m sure you can understand. And it, like, brings so many people together. Like, it’s crazy that I’m meeting you and how people can connect through culture and just nostalgia. I think it’s a really powerful thing,” Eala told Clarkson in a video posted by ESPNW on Saturday.

“You know, when you got Filipino blood, you take the whole country with you to hold pride and [we’re] everywhere,” replied Clarkson, whose grandmother is from Bacolor, Pampanga.
