MONTREAL – Natalia Silva met the media Wednesday ahead of her fight at UFC 315.

Silva (18-5-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) takes on former women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso (16-4-1 MMA, 8-4-1 UFC) on the main card card at Bell Centre in Montreal. At media day, Silva took questions from media members before her fight.

With a perfect 6-0 record in the UFC, Silva hasn’t lost a fight since December 2017. A win over Grasso would be her second straight over a former champion; she had a Fight of the Night decision win over ex-strawweight titleholder Jessica Andrade this past September.

But Silva thinks going to 7-0 in the women’s 125-pound division is reason enough for her to get a shot at Saturday’s co-main event winner between champion Valentina Shevchenko, who took the title off Grasso in their trilogy fight this past fall, and challenger Manon Fiorot – who is favored in the fight.

“It’s a really good fight for me. Alexa is someone who’s always been at the top and it’s a really important fight for me. … I’ve been saying I’m going to be the champion ever since I joined the UFC. Right away, I asked for a top-15 opponent because I knew I was on my way to fighting for the belt one day.

“… Obviously, I’m thinking about my fight, but I want to watch that (title fight) closely, as wel.”
