As there have been many transfer portal recruits who have committed to different schools, news broke early on Thursday morning.
It appears that a common theme has emerged in the SEC, where players are choosing to move on from their old schools while remaining in the conference.

This has happened once again, and one of college basketball’s most well-known coaches is losing one of his first recruits after moving from Kentucky to Arkansas.

Second-year guard Boogie Fland decided to stay another year in college after originally declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft, but instead of staying with Coach Calipari in Arkansas, he entered the transfer portal on April 22.
It’s taken Fland nearly an entire month to decide on where he wanted to go, but he decided to stay in the conference and commit to the 2025 National Champion Florida Gators.
He will be another guard for head coach Todd Golden and the Gators.

Golden and the Gators lost three pivotal guards that played a key role in their National Championship win last season in Walter Clayton Jr., Alijah Martin, and Will Richard.

Fland was Arkansas’ second-leading scorer last season, averaging 13.5 points per game, and led the team in assists with 5.1 per game.
Some of his best games for the Razorbacks last season came on December 30 when he dropped a career-high 24 points while having six assists and shot 56% from the field.
Another key game for Fland was on December 10 in a matchup with Michigan where he had 20 points, seven assists and two steals.

His freshman season came with a sad ending as he suffered a thumb injury in their January 11 loss to his new team in Florida that led to him missing 15 games.
He will join another young guard in Princeton transfer Xaivian Lee as the two will pair together with Coach Golden and the Gators.
