The former UConn star had 21 points, seven assists and two steals on 43.8% shooting from the field. Her fellow rookie, Aziaha James, had her second start of her young career. James finished with 17 points, five rebounds and five assists on 71.4% efficiency.

The two rookies helped the Wings secure back-to-back wins for the first time this season. The Wings’ previous contest was an 80-71 victory against the Golden State Valkyries on Tuesday.

During the game, Bueckers got the first technical foul of her professional career. The point guard shot from the mid-range and thought there was contact from the defense. She made the shot and clapped at one of the officials, demanding a foul call.

The referee blew the whistle and gave Bueckers a technical foul.

After the contest, the Minnesota native addressed what happened and said that she thought she was fouled.

“I clapped twice and I said ‘And one!’ And he said I clapped in his face. So, that’s all,” Bueckers said via Maggie Vanoni on X.

Bueckers didn’t think much of it throughout the entire game. She stayed focused and put on a show for the Connecticut fans. Following the contest, the star point guard stopped in front of the fans to give them autographs before leaving the arena.

It was the second and final game for Bueckers at Connecticut. The next time the two teams will face each other, it will be the Wings’ turn to host at College Park Center.
