Wiggins ranks as the No. 9 recruit from Pennsylvania, giving Penn State six of the top 11 in-state recruits. It’s also favored to land tight end Joey O’Brien, who ranks as the No. 2 player in the Keystone State.
Wiggins stands at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds and ranks as the No. 26 linebacker in the country. He becomes the first player at the position to commit to the Nittany Lions.
Penn State’s class now consists of 14 members, and jumped from No. 7 to No. 5 nationally. It ranks as the second-best unit in the Big Ten, trailing only No. 1 USC.
Wiggins took official visits to Syracuse, Cincinnati, Kentucky and Penn State, and held offers from Michigan State, Minnesota, Virginia Tech and others. He ultimately decided to stay in-state, giving Dan Connor a big recruiting win in his first year as linebackers coach.
