Texas A&M has landed nearly every one of its priority prospects in the 2027 class, including five-star linebacker Kaden Henderson on Thursday, beating out Notre Dame for the blue-chip defender, who is officially the program’s highest-rated linebacker commit in program history, according to 247Sports. Up next, coach Mike Elko and his staff are looking to lock down two five-star prospects.
Last week, I myself predicted that 2027 five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland, who will announce his decision on Sunday, June 28, will be the Aggies’ next commit, while five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, who is coming off his official visit with Michigan, will announce his commitment on July 1.

Right now, the Aggies remain the favorites to land with McFarland, while Dobson’s decision could match Kaden Henderson’s last-minute timeline. After Dobson’s official visit to College Station, the five-star defensive back stated that Texas A&M remains “at the top” of his list, providing Aggie fans with plenty of breathing room before his commitment.
After five-star cornerback John Meredith committed to Texas, securing Dobson’s commitment has become that much more important. After speaking with several sources, including my Texas A&M Aggies Live co-host and recruiting insider Kannon Torres, who feels that Mike Elko will “turn up the pressure” in his pursuit of Dobson, despite Michigan and South Carolina attempting to steal momentum.
“With John Meredith off the board, I expect Texas A&M to turn up the pressure on Joshua Dobson. The Aggies remain in a strong position against Michigan, Auburn, and South Carolina, and now, they have to close on a corner who would become a leader of the class.”
Already making it clear to Dobson that he remains the No. 1 recruiting target, and a perfect fit on defense, Mike Elko and cornerback coach Bryant Gross-Armiento remain in a solid position to fend off all three contenders mentioned heading into the next two weeks.
