Fresh off a second-straight Sweet 16 trip, the UNC women’s basketball team is ready to prove itself again as an ACC competitor this coming season.
Head coach Courtney Banghart guided North Carolina to a 28-8 record during its 2025-26 campaign, which included NCAA Tournament victories over Western Illinois and Maryland inside Carmichael Arena. The Tar Heels also played ranked teams close, including a 74-69 upset victory over archrival Duke on Senior Day.

On Wednesday, UNC’s 2026-27 schedule just became complete, with all 18 of its ACC games announced. Times are TBA, but players, coaches and fans can all now prepare for every regular-season matchup.
North Carolina starts the conference portion of its 2026-27 schedule on Sunday, December 13 vs. NC State, an unusually early date. The Tar Heels will only play Duke twice, hosting on January 31, 2027 then traveling to Durham on February 28.
UNC also hosts Georgia Tech (Dec. 17) and travels to Syracuse (Dec. 31) in the 2026 portion of its conference schedule, then begins 2027 at Clemson on Jan. 3. North Carolina will plays its most ACC contests in January, also facing Wake Forest (7), Louisville (10), Boston College (17), Cal (21), Stanford (24) and Notre Dame (28)
The Tar Heels will start February at Miami (FL) on the fourth, then return home to play Virginia Tech the 7th. SMU (14th), Pitt (18th), Florida State (21st) and Virginia close out regular season play before the finale at Duke.
