The Indiana Fever feel desperate as they enter their final four games of the WNBA regular season, but they also remain firmly in control of their own destiny. The Fever are currently outside the top four, sitting fifth with a 26-14 record, but they could tie with fourth-seeded Atlanta Dream, who beat the Connecticut Sun 103-59 on Thursday to go 0.5 games ahead.
On this topsy-turvy seeding battle, WNBA analyst and Women’s Hoops host Jordan Robinson shed light on how she thinks things will pan out in the Fever‘s final week.
“You look at the standings right now, there are some playoff matchups that I really want. So I don’t want the standings to change too much,” Robinson said on Thursday. “I’m looking at Atlanta and Indiana, right there at that four and five seed. They’re flip-flopping back and forth.
Apart from Indiana and Atlanta, Las Vegas, Washington and Dallas are also fighting for a chance to secure home-court advantage. Robinson explained that it is far from over for both teams, with a Caitlin Clark vs. Angel Reese first-round playoff matchup potentially on the line.
“Those top four seeds get home-court advantage, and when we think about this series, unfortunately we’ll only get three games because it’ll be the first round. But the matchup between them, home-court advantage is going to make a huge difference. So it’s going to come down to possibly the final game. I think about how Indiana plays Washington on Sunday. If they win that game, their chances at the four seed go up to 50%. But if they lose, it goes down to 16%… So it is far from over. There is still a lot that can happen.”
If both teams win their remaining games, they would enter a tiebreaker for the No. 4 spot at 30-14. The teams split the season series 2-2, so the league then moves to winning percentage against teams that finish .500 or better. That is where Atlanta currently owns the edge. But Indiana still has to take care of business in its final four games to determine where it will finish in the standings.

Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream Have Tough Matchups Remaining on Their Schedules
The Fever and Dream continue to stack up victories and are the two hottest teams in the league’s seeding race. Atlanta has won eight of its last 10 games, while Indiana is 7-3, and both teams are on two-game winning streaks. They will face an uphill battle with the rest of their schedule.
Among the toughest tests for the Fever are two matchups with the No.1 seed, Minnesota, along with single games against the Mystics and Tempo. Only the matchup against Toronto looks easy, but every other game could go either way, as Fever’s opponents also remain in the mix in the seeding battle.
Similarly, the Dream have three more games remaining, including a single game against the Chicago Sky, which should be winnable. However, the following two matchups against the New York Liberty, who hold the last playoff spot, could be difficult, as both games are on the road for Atlanta.

Because of that challenging stretch, both teams will need to take advantage of games against teams lower in the standings, which could prove crucial in determining their fate. So, expect both teams to give a full-on effort as they look to stay in the hunt for home-court advantage.
