Governance update

World Archery President Greg Easton updated the Executive Board on the International Olympic Committee’s Fit for the Future workshop held in May, the ASOIF General Assembly, and the recent IOC Extraordinary Session.

These discussions reinforced the need for World Archery to remain nimble, relevant, and better able to adapt more quickly to a changing international sports environment.

In this context, the Executive Board reviewed the findings of the sixth ASOIF governance review, covering the 2024-2025 period. World Archery has maintained its position in Group B since the review’s inception in 2017, but the Board has identified governance improvement as a priority.

Proposals to update the World Archery Constitution and relevant bylaws will be developed for consideration at the 2027 Congress, with the aim of strengthening governance, improving agility, and positioning the federation for a higher ranking in the next evaluation cycle.

The Executive Board also reviewed the 2025 financial report presented by the external auditors, PwC. Following the 2025 deficit, the Board has initiated a series of measures throughout 2026 to address the underlying structural factors, support financial stability, and provide a more sustainable outlook for the coming cycle.

As part of its commitment to transparency and best practice, the Board has also decided to initiate a formal tender process for future external auditing services, and will consider whether higher-level accounting standards should be implemented across the organisation.
