Antoine Griezmann’s arrival in MLS has come up with the goods in expected fashion across much of the 2026 season, with the World Cup winner and France icon becoming one of the faces of the league and Orlando City alike.
And tonight, the veteran versatile midfielder has delivered once again in emphatic fashion.

With the Lions down by a goal in the wake of a hit from returning NYCFC talisman Alonso Martínez, Griezmann came up big in another key moment for Martín Perelman’s outfit in the dying minutes of the first half.
It took a beautiful ball into the box from out wide via Orlando captain Martín Ojeda to pick out the 35-year-old Mâcon-born attacker, who left Tomás Romero with absolutely no chance of denying him his 13th MLS goal in just 15 appearances across the 2026 campaign to level matters at one-all.
And with that world-class effort, Griezmann became the second-fastest player in MLS history to bag 20 direct goal contributions in just 15 appearances, second only to, you guessed it, Lionel Messi.
Given Orlando’s late-season push to secure a spot in the 226 MLS Playoff, who else but Griezmann could make it count when the Lions needed it most?
