Over the last few seasons, Texas A&M football has gone from a tier two contender and a consistent top 25 team to a team that will consistently be in the College Football Playoff discussion under Mike Elko.

A lot of that comes down to recruiting and roster building, something that Texas A&M has become one of the best programs in the country at in recent years. That continued on Tuesday, when the Aggies landed a commitment from 2027 ATH Loia Valade, per Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports.

Valade chose to come to Texas A&M over other SEC schools such as Auburn and Florida, so this is a big win for Texas A&M to not only add to its own roster, but to keep one of the top recruits in the class away from some of its rivals.

With the commitment, Valade stated why he chose to come to College Station, via Fawcett.

“I chose A&M because I want to be a part of something special and play in the best conference,” Valade said, per Fawcett.

Valade is a three-star recruit, and On3 and Rivals has him rated as the No. 22 overall ATH in the class. He is from Boca Raton, FL and plays his high school ball at West Boca Raton, so this is a big win to steal him from the in-state Gators on the recruiting trail.

While Valade won’t be a part of a Texas A&M roster that is looking to go back to the College Football Playoff in 2026, Elko and company still have very high expectations this season. Quarterback Marcel Reed is back, and one of his top weapons is also back in star wide receiver Mario Craver. That deadly combination should make this one of the most explosive offenses in the SEC once again.

When Valade gets to College Station in 2027, the Aggies will look a lot different and will hopefully be coming off of back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances. He will be a part of a group looking to continue that tradition and keep the Aggies near the top of the SEC.
