Jalen Brunson is adding another major moment to an already memorable year, this time away from the basketball court.
NBC announced that the New York Knicks star will make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut on Sept. 26, opening Season 52 of the long-running show.
Pop group Katseye will appear alongside Brunson as the episode’s musical guest.
The opportunity comes after Brunson led New York to the 2026 NBA championship and earned NBA Finals MVP honors.
Before beginning the Knicks’ title defense, he will now step into one of television’s most recognizable hosting roles.
Brunson already has some experience entertaining an audience outside basketball.
He regularly appears on The Roommates Show, the podcast he co-hosts with Knicks teammate Josh Hart and entrepreneur Matt Hillman, where he has displayed a more comedic side of his personality.
His upcoming SNL appearance will also make history for the Knicks. Brunson will become the first player from the franchise to host the program during its 51-year history.
He will join a small group of New York sports stars who have received the opportunity.
Eli Manning and Derek Jeter previously hosted the show, making Brunson the third athlete representing the city’s major sports scene to do so.
