WNBA podcaster Robin Lundberg called out Angel Reese for her comments about officiating after her dismal performance in Game 5 of the 2026 WNBA Finals. Lundberg believes Reese’s complaints about referees were just “strange.”
Reese totaled just seven points in Game 5, one less than in Game 4, along with 15 rebounds. After powering Atlanta to a 2-1 series lead, her struggles in the two straight losses have the Valkyries one win from taking the series.

After she called out the refs in her postgame media session, Lundberg on Tuesday presented the free-throw numbers of the two teams, saying the Dream have a 130-78 advantage over the Golden State Valkyries in free throws in the series:
“You were up 2-1, and in Game 4, it was 31-13 in your favor, and in this game, even though, you know, it was only a one free-throw advantage for Atlanta … there’s no room to complain. And what would be the reason, you know? They don’t want you to win? Why? That, to me, was a strange statement from Angel Reese.”
In the last two games, Reese had nine turnovers, while she made just four field goals. The Valkyries have dominantly defended the paint, not letting Reese get any easy shots.
Angel Reese still believes in the Dream’s chances to win the title
The Dream are in the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2013, and they hope to win the franchise’s first championship. Angel Reese will have to return to her earlier form for the team to force a Game 7.

In the postgame session, she exuded confidence:
“I still believe that we can win this. The process sometimes is a little bit harder, and you want to go through hard stuff to get what you want.”
The Dream will be under immense pressure to even the series in Game 6 on Thursday. They will be back home in Atlanta, and that should only help their cause.
