It seems that with each passing game, Caitlin Clark continues to prove that she’s the real deal and not merely a creature of hype.

On Saturday, she returned from an injured quad and had 32 points, nine assists, eight rebounds and two blocks as her Indiana Fever notched a statement win over the defending WNBA champion New York Liberty. On Tuesday, she had 20 points and six assists to lead Indiana to a win over the Connecticut Sun.
Tuesday’s win sent Indiana to the final game of the Commissioner’s Cup, where it will face the Minnesota Lynx on July 1. But the win over Connecticut was a testy one, and she had some words on social media afterward.
A fan asked her, “You like that?” and she responded, “I do.”
Tuesday’s contest was very physical, and multiple technical fouls were handed out as a result. Clark was the subject of some of that physicality in the third quarter.

Connecticut guard Jacy Sheldon poked Clark in the eye, and moments later, Marina Mabrey shoved the 2024 Rookie of the Year. With a technical foul called against Mabrey and a flagrant foul assessed to Sheldon as a result, Clark was given three free throws. She made all three to put Indiana ahead by 13 points.

Sheldon, along with Lindsay Allen and Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, was ejected later in the game after getting involved in a separate incident.
Indiana ended up winning, 88-71, and it got 17 points from Kelsey Mitchell and 16 points and 12 rebounds from veteran forward Natasha Howard. The team now has a 6-5 record, and it may be just starting to gain steam with both Clark and guard Sophie Cunningham back to full health.
