The Michigan State women’s basketball standout was selected to the USA roster for the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup on June 19 following three days of trials. VanSlooten is the first Spartan player to represent Team USA in competition since Aerial Powers was part of a squad that won golf at the World University Games in South Korea in 2014. She will travel to Santiago, Chile, for the FIBA AmeriCup that takes place June 28 through July 6.

Joining VanSlooten on the USA’s FIBA AmeriCup roster are Oklahoma’s Raegan Beers, Vanderbilt’s Mikayla Blakes, Texas’ Madison Booker, Iowa State‘s Audi Crooks, South Carolina’s Joyce Edwards, Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo and Olivia Miles. LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson, Utah’s Gianna Kneepkens, USC’s Kennedy Smith and Iowa’s Hannah Stuelke.
