Kevin Borjas vs. Imanol Rodriguez UFC Fight Night 268 preview
Borjas (10-4 MMA, 1-3 UFC) will look to build some momentum after a tough start to his UFC tenure. The 28-year-old Peruvian is 1-3 in the promotion, and coming off a unanimous decision loss to Su Mudaerji last August. Prior to that was his only victory under the UFC banner, a unanimous nod over Ronaldo Rodriguez last March.

Rodriguez (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has his UFC debut set after earning a contract with the promotion on Dana White’s Contender Series in October. A contestant on Season 33 of “The Ultimate Fighter” as well, Rodriguez made his way to the show by knocking out Roque Conceicao in the first round of his DWCS appearance.
Kevin Borjas vs. Imanol Rodriguez UFC Fight Night 268 expert pick, prediction
Filling out the main card is an intriguing flyweight affair between Imanol Rodriguez and Kevin Borjas.
A hot prospect coming out of both The Ultimate Fighter and Dana White’s Contender Series, Rodriguez has proven to be a rookie worth watching.

Despite coming from a judo and sambo background, Rodriguez appears to have a penchant for firefights on the feet and flurries off the breaks, which is in a very similar spirit to how Chepe Mariscal fights.
Rodriguez, who trains under the wing of Daniel Cormier, looks to have some solid grappling chops that could come in handy for this fight. That said, Borjas is an incredibly scrappy fighter in all phases and shouldn’t be slept on in this spot.
The Peruvian isn’t exactly finish-proof, but Borjas is an incredibly durable fighter whose Thai boxing regularly stuns foes in both victory and defeat. Should Rodriguez chase and follow too hard, his propensity to keep his head on the centerline could cost him dearly in the form of counter crosses and hooks.
It’s an absolute dog or pass spot from a betting perspective, but I’ll officially pick the prospect I’ve had my eye on in Rodriguez to edge out a competitive decision win on the scorecards.
