Swiss Open 2026: Satwik-Chirag concede walkover in quarterfinal

by admin

India’s men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty crashed out of the Swiss Open 2026 quarterfinals on Friday after giving a walkover win to Christian Kjaer and Rasmus Kjaer of Denmark.

The reason for the Indian pair not taking the court was not known.

After a tame first-round exit at the All England Open last week, Satwik-Chirag had built momentum with back-to-back wins at the Swiss Open.

The top-seeded Indians had endured a 74-minute round of 16 match on Thursday where they defeated Okamura and Yamashita of Japan. Earlier in the first round, Satwik and Chirag had overcome the Indonesian pair of Koh and Kubo.

Later in the day, Tharun Mannepalli went down 19-21, 21-19, 13-21 to Anthony Ginting in men’s singles quarterfinals.
