“I’m honored to join the Iowa women’s basketball coaching staff,” Walker said. “To have the opportunity to join a program with a tradition of excellence, national reputation, and a profound impact on the landscape of women’s basketball is truly a blessing. I’m excited to be part of a community that has inspired generations and elevated the game at every level. I can’t wait to get to work with the amazing staff!”

With the addition of Walker to her coaching staff, Jensen has now brought in two new assistants this offseason. Walker joins former Georgia Tech assistant LaSondra Barrett as new assistants on the Hawkeyes’ coaching staff.

“I am so excited to welcome Jas to our staff,” Jensen said. “Jas is a bright, young coach with a skill set that will complement our staff so well. I am thrilled to begin utilizing Jas’ experiences and am looking forward to having her join our Hawkeye family.”

While at George Washington last season, Walker coached Gabby Reynolds to A-10 All-Rookie team honors. During her first Division I assistant coaching stint at Purdue Fort Wayne during the 2023-24 campaign, the Mastodons posted a 23-13 record and advanced to the second round of the Horizon League Championships.

Purdue Fort Wayne won two games in the WNIT before falling to eventual WNIT champion Saint Louis in the Super 16. The 23 wins tied the program record for the most single season victories and the Mastodons finished the season with school records in points, 3-pointers and rebounds.

Walker began her coaching career at Davenport University in 2019-20 before spending two seasons at Ferris State where she helped the Bulldogs win the 2022 GLIAC Tournament. Walker coached two all-conference honorees, including the GLIAC Freshman of the Year.

Then, in her lone season at Butler, Walker served as the program’s coordinator of recruiting and creative content and the Bulldogs improved their win total by 10 games.
