“First and foremost, I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to continue my career/dream on a high level,” Murphy wrote. “I also want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mississippi State University and the coaching staff for their unwavering support and guidance throughout my time here, the last four years at Mississippi State I have built great bonds on and off the court.”
Murphy said he has one year of eligibility remaining. He also entered the transfer portal last year but returned to MSU.
What KeShawn Murphy entering the transfer portal means for Mississippi State
Murphy entering the transfer portal is a big loss for Mississippi State. Although he only started three games, the 6-foot-10 redshirt junior experienced a breakout season with career highs in nearly every statistic.

The MSU roster is already undergoing heavy turnover for next season, especially with star guard Josh Hubbard declaring for the NBA draft. Hubbard is maintaining his college eligibility, but if he doesn’t return, MSU will not have its top eight scorers back.
