One of the top in-state prospects in the 2027 class has reportedly locked in an official visit to Michigan State for late May.
Myles Smith of Farmington, Mich. has reportedly scheduled an official visit to Michigan State for the weekend of May 29, according to 247Sports recruiting insider Allen Trieu. He also has scheduled an official visit to Kentucky for June 12.

Smith is listed as a four-star edge rusher, with a recruiting rating of 92.53 in 247Sports’ composite rating system. He ranks as the No. 4 player from Michigan and No. 21 edge rusher in the 2027 class. He is also listed as the No. 205 overall prospect in the class.
Michigan State is one of more than 20 schools to extend an offer to Smith, according to 247Sports. He also holds notable offers from Kentucky, California, Illinois, Indiana, Cincinnati, Missouri, Michigan, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Penn State, Purdue, Pitt, Rutgers, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Vanderbilt.
Smith has been a clear priority for the Spartans in the 2027 recruiting class so this is big news for Michigan State to lock in an official visit. By getting this official visit, it’s clear the interest between Michigan State and Smith is mutual, which could go a long way in his recruitment.
