The Ohio State Buckeyes have suffered multiple setbacks in their recruiting drive this weekend. First, Jamir Perez committed to the Florida Gators, and now another prospect has chosen the Texas Longhorns over Columbus.
Felix Ojo, a five-star offensive tackle from Lake Ridge High School, has named Steve Sarkisian’s team as the No. 1 in his recruitment process.

“Texas is always been place I’ve felt comfortable at,” Ojo told Rivals.
“Talking to Coach Sark, to Coach Flood—we’ve always had great relationships,” the No. 12 player in the Rivals250 continued. “Texas right now is recruiting me the hardest. They’re still the No. 1 team recruiting me right now.”

Ojo’s perspective will come as a surprise to Ryan Day’s camp, as they have been pursuing him since last fall. He even had a multi-day visit to Columbus during the spring game.
He finalized six official visits this cycle, including trips to Colorado, Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas and Oklahoma, out of which he placed Texas and Ohio State in the top 2. Now, as the commitment date draws near, things seem to favor the Longhorns.
The official visit is scheduled for May 30, followed by visits to Michigan on June 6 and Texas on June 13. It remains to be seen how his return to Ohio State will turn out.

Besides Ojo, OSU already boasts three 2026 OL commits, Avon Lake native Maxwell Riley, Akron’s Sam Greer and Tucker Smith, while still pursuing top targets, all in-state prospects like Micah “Champ” Smith, Aaron Thomas and Darius Gray.
