In the last three minutes of the third quarter of the preseason game between the Chicago Sky and the Minnesota Lynx, Sky rookie Hailey Van Lith stole the ball from Lynx forward Naphessa Collier and ran across the court to score.
This impressive play was then reposted by the WNBA official X account on Saturday night, with the caption “Defense turns to offense for Hailey Van Lith 🔥.”

The game ended with a final score of 92-87 in favor of the Lynx. This marks the final preseason game for both the Sky and the Lynx before the official WNBA season begins.
In this tightly contested game, HVL scored eight points for the Chicago Sky.

Before being drafted in 2025, the 23-year-old athlete was a star player at the University of Louisville, LSU and TCU. During her graduate season at TCU, she revitalized her career, leading the team to its first Big 12 titles and earning accolades such as Big 12 Player of the Year and First Team All-Big 12.
In the 2025 WNBA Draft, HVL was selected 11th overall by the Sky, where she reunited with former LSU teammate Angel Reese.

Last Friday, the guard made her WNBA preseason debut on May 2 in a game against the Brazilian National Team, coming off the bench to play 13 minutes. She finished with seven points and five assists.
