Fans are eager to watch teams battle in the preseason this weekend before the WNBA opens its curtains anew.
The Indiana Fever, led by superstar guard Caitlin Clark, will open their preseason against the Washington Mystics at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday.

It will be an early test for the Mystics, who are looking to bounce back from their dismal campaign last season, wherein they finished with a 14-26 win-loss record and missed the playoffs.
The game against the Fever will be even tougher for Washington without two key players.
Rookie guard Georgia Amoore, who was drafted by the Mystics as the sixth overall pick, tore the ACL in her right knee in practice on Tuesday. The Mystics have yet to announce a timeline for Amoore but there’s the possibility of being sidelined for the entire season.
Less than 24 hours after her injury, the team announced that second-year forward Aaliyah Edwards has been diagnosed with a lower back contusion and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

The pair of setbacks have dealt a major blow to Washington’s preparations. The squad is hoping to reclaim its past glory when it won back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2019.

Moore, who starred for Kentucky, was viewed as a major part of the Mystics’ rebuild. She averaged 19.6 points and 6.9 assists per game in her lone season with the Wildcats.
Meanwhile, Edwards, who was also selected by the Mystics as the sixth overall pick in 2024, was expected to take on a bigger role. She tallied 7.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per outing in her rookie stint.
