Oregon Ducks, Dan Lanning Still Trending for 5-Star QB

by admin

The Oregon Ducks and Dan Lanning have become one of the most attractive programs to play for in all of college football. Since taking over as the program’s head coach, Lanning has done an amazing job of building a culture that players want to join.

That culture has led to winning. Last season, Oregon finished the regular season as the No. 1 ranked team in the country. While they came up short against the eventual champion Ohio State Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl, the season was a success for the Ducks.

Lanning is now focused on making sure Oregon stays at the top for years to come.

In order to accomplish that goal, the Ducks need to make sure their quarterback situation is in a good place. To that end, they have been pursuing an elite five-star quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class.

That quarterback is none other than Jared Curtis, who hails from Nashville Christian School in Nashville, Tennessee.

At this point in time, Lanning and Oregon are trending well when it comes to Curtis. According to On3 Sports, the Ducks have a 54.2% chance of landing his commitment. They are still battling with the Georgia Bulldogs, who have a 36.9% chance.

247 Sports currently has Curtis ranked No. 1 among all quarterbacks in the 2026 recruiting class. He is also ranked No. 2 in the nation and No. 1 in the state of Tennessee.

Bringing Curtis onboard would be a big step in the right direction for the Oregon football program. Lanning and company still have work to do, but they’re being given a good chance to bring him onboard.
