Archery Australia is inviting applications for the role of national compound head coach to lead the nation’s compound archery programme toward international success.
With compound archery set to make its Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028, and Brisbane preparing to host the Olympic Games in 2032 – marking Australia’s third time hosting after Melbourne 1956 and Sydney 2000 – this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of archery on both a national and global stage.
The successful candidate will have proven expertise in compound archery coaching at the international level, with a track record of developing athletes and fostering a high-performance culture.
The position collaborates closely with athletes, national coaches and performance partners to oversee daily training environments, plan for key benchmark events and contribute to coach education and performance frameworks.
This role offers a flexible location and a part-time commitment of three days per week.
Interested applicants should submit their resume and a cover letter to gina.rees@archery.org.au.
The deadline for applications is 25 June 2025.
Archery Australia is the national governing body for the sport of archery in Australia.
The nation has a proud history of competitive success on the world stage, highlighted by five-time Olympian and Sydney 2000 Olympic Champion Simon Fairweather – who recently returned to the national team as recurve coach – along with Tim Cuddihy’s bronze medal in Athens 2004 and the men’s team bronze of Ryan Tyack, Taylor Worth and Alec Potts in Rio 2016.
