ACC conference schedules look a little different than what they used to for the Notre Dame men’s basketball program. With the additions of Stanford, California and SMU prior to the start of the 2024-2025 seasons in the ACC, fewer and fewer “home and home” series have appeared on conference schedules. Last season, the Irish had 10 home ACC conference games and 10 road conference games.

Out of their 20 conference games, they only played Syracuse, Georgia Tech and Boston College twice. Last season, they Irish had a tough road schedule as they had to face Duke, Clemson, Wake Forest, Virginia and Syracuse all on the road. Notre Dame finished last season with a conference record of 8-12, but with a new wave of recruits coming in and a favorable schedule, head coach Micah Shrewsberry is poised for his best season in South Bend.
This upcoming season, Notre Dame will have nine ACC conference games inside of Purcell Pavilion and nine ACC conference games on the road. Here is the breakdown of their conference schedule:

Notre Dame will only square off with two opponents twice in the 2025-2026 season. They have a home and home scheduled with Boston College and Stanford. Shrewsberry and company will have to travel to North Carolina, Louisville, SMU and Syracuse this upcoming season which won’t be easy games to say the least. Fortunately, they will host Duke, Clemson, Virginia and Georgia Tech in South bend this upcoming season.
This is expected to be a much improved roster for Notre Dame this upcoming season. Star point guard Markus Burton returns to the South Bend for his junior season, rising sophomores Sir Mohammed, Cole Certa and Garret Sundra all saw meaningful minutes this past season. They picked up Carson Towt from the transfer portal from Northern Arizona. Towt led the nation in rebounds in 2024. Shrewsberry is also bringing in the highest ranked recruiting class for Notre Dame in the modern era.
The expectations are on the rise for the men’s basketball program, something that hasn’t been able to have been said the past couple of seasons. They will have to be better on the road in conference this season compared to last, but this unit could be poised for a potential NCAA Tournament season with a strong year in conference.
