The LSUOle Miss game has plenty of storylines, but the connection between Trinidad Chambliss and Lane Kiffin is one of the biggest.

Kiffin left Ole Miss for LSU during the 2025 season, and there was an expectation that some of his former players could follow him via the transfer portal. Chambliss chose a different path. He stayed at Ole Miss, worked through a legal battle to secure another year of eligibility, and remained committed to Pete Golding and the Rebels.

Now, Chambliss will face his former coach when LSU visits Oxford on Saturday night.

Dan Orlovsky Speaks Bluntly, Defining Trinidad Chambliss’ Mindset Against Lane Kiffin

Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky believes Chambliss should use the situation as motivation. Speaking on ESPN’s “Get Up” podcast, Orlovsky said Chambliss should look at the matchup personally after Kiffin decided to leave Ole Miss.

“He’s the best quarterback in college football. And thinking in the context of, if I’m Chambliss, I’m playing against the coach that left me… He went to LSU to win a national championship. He can get better players there. I would never think about it in that lens,” Orlovsky said.

“I’m Trinidad Chambliss, Lane Kiffin. You left me and I’m gonna do everything I can this Saturday when you come to Ole Miss to make you regret that decision. Not only just Saturday, but for the rest of your life because you’ll never have a quarterback as good as me. That would be my mindset. I would try to absolutely rip his heart out on Saturday night,” he added.
