The indoor season opens in Lausanne for the fourth consecutive year as the Swiss Open Lausanne 2026 kicks off the 2027 Hyundai Indoor World Series from 30 October to 1 November.
Hosted at the World Archery Excellence Centre, this year’s event brings together 379 archers from 30 countries, with France fielding the largest contingent of 92 competitors.
The competition features recurve and compound events across elite, under-21 and 50-plus categories, with barebow making its debut at the Swiss Open.
The indoor circuit comprises eight ranking events from October 2026 to March 2027, culminating in the Indoor World Series Finals in Las Vegas on 14 March, following the Vegas Shoot. Lausanne offers 250 ranking points, giving archers an early opportunity to make their mark in the season standings.
The compound men’s field features several of the world’s leading archers, headed by world number one Mathias Fullerton, who won silver at the 2026 Hyundai Archery World Cup Final in Saltillo. He is joined by Mike Schloesser and Nicolas Girard, while Sebastián García Flores adds further depth to the line-up.
Schloesser, the 2023 Swiss Open winner, arrives after helping the Mighty Marathas win season two of India’s Archery Premier League. Girard, meanwhile, will be looking to go one better after finishing runner-up to Britain’s Ajay Scott in 2025.
Marie Horackova arrives in Lausanne as the world number one, 2026 World Cup Final champion and defending Swiss Open champion. The Czech archer will be looking to retain her title.
In recurve men, Willem Bakker, who won bronze at the Swiss Open in 2025, faces competition from Mexico’s world number five, Matias Grande, who will be among the leading contenders.
Italy’s Francesca Aloisi returns to defend her 2025 compound women’s title, while compatriot Elisa Roner will be aiming to go one better after taking silver last year. Mexico’s world number two Andrea Maya Becerra Arizaga also adds star power to the field, alongside India’s Jyothi Surekha Vennam.
Alongside the main competition, Saturday’s programme includes a new-format secondary tournament in the evening. The event concludes on Sunday with the Swiss Open medal matches.
